Media Conversion

Our choice of product line provides a range of scalable connectivity, distribution and media conversion solutions in a single manageable/unmanageable chassis.
Located between the enterprise devices and cabling system, this multifunctional platform supports a large variety of plug-in manageable modules, designed to address the needs of high-density, rapid growth networks.
Each Media convertor chassis can accommodate any combination of modules supporting:

• Diverse functionalities such as media conversion, switching, redundancy and distance extension solutions, CWDM,multiplexing
• Multiple LAN protocols such as 10/100/1000M Ethernet, 155/622M ATM, ESCON, Fiber Channel, E1/T1, AS/400
• Various copper and fiber media (SM,MM, SF, CWDM, etc.)

CWDM/DWDM

CWDM Solution provides cost effective wavelength bundling solutions for optical transports. CWDM reduces the cost of building-out service networks by increasing the effective bandwidth of existing fibres and reducing the numbers of required fibres in cable installations.
CWDM (Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing) technology channels data from different sources at different bit rates and different protocols (such as ESCON, Ethernet, Fiber Channel, ATM) onto a single optical link, to be de-multiplexed on the remote side.
CWDM multiplexed wavelengths are 20nm apart eliminating the need for thermally controlled lasers and reducing the power consumption, no amplifiers are used for the transmitted distances. This reduces the cost of the interface modules making CWDM a lower cost alternative to DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing), while providing the same security, reliability and quality as DWDM systems.

Industrial Networks

In addition to being deployed in local networks, Ethernet is spreading increasingly across production environments. Modern machine control systems and industrial plants are already equipped with 10/100Base-TX interfaces.

Production environments can also benefit from flexible media conversion by employing fibre optics as they are insensitive against electromagnetic interference and do not suffer from galvanic separation, enable longer transmission distances, and are highly reliable. However, deployment of fibre optics for such as active hubs, switches, and media converters in office environments is fundamentally different from the deployment in production environments where fast initialisation, high robustness and availability, as well as fail safe operation are required. For this extremely demanding environment, IT-NET offers a large selection of exclusive products.
